When Indira Gumarova moved to Washington with her husband, Czech Ambassador Hynek Kmonícek, she wanted to create community around her passion for fashion. She wasted no time forging connections and building programming based on her couture niche. You would think you were at New York Fashion Week or a swanky A-list Hollywood premiere. Which is exactly what Fashion Night Ignites co-founders Zarah Burstein and Indira Gumarova wanted.
The Hidden Language of Diplomacy: “Fashion Night Ignites showcased cutting-edge fashion designers rarely seen in Washington to rekindle the city’s passion for fashion.
BEST IN SHOW: After the show, guests indulged in cocktails and cuisine that honored the cultures of each country to the theme of “A Night in Prague, Ljubljana, and Valletta”.

“The post-fashion celebration highlighted each of the countries’ cultures, cocktails, and cuisine via “A Night in Prague, Ljubljana, and Valletta” with music curated by Madonna’s favorite DJ Enferno. The event raised awareness for the National Register of Historic Places, a nonprofit close to the heart of former First Lady and style maven Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Perry Belmont House Foundation.”
